Recreational facilities for teenagers

Teenage shelterThis project was first identified through a petition organised by a young teenager and presented to the parish council.  With teenagers forming around twenty per cent of Shrivenham's population and no facilities for them, Biffaward was pleased to support an application to fund a shelter, multi-use games area, seats and litter bins on a recreation ground in the centre of the village.  This project is very much community-led, particularly by the younger members of the community.

There is already a well maintained playground for younger children, which received £10,000 from Biffaward in 2002.

This application was submitted and fronted by the Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment on behalf of The Viscountess Barrington's Trust. The required third party funding was provided by Shrivenham Parish Council.
